Hate to have that thing come after you…

Yellowstone National Park might just be the most incredible place in the entire United States.

No matter what time of day you go, what time of year… you’re always bound to see something incredible. Whether it’s bear, elk, wolves, or bison, you’re getting a front row seat to the best that American wildlife has to offer.

Siddharth Gandhi was able to catch an incredible moment on video (in 2017) when a massive grey wolf wandered onto a two lane road in Lamar Valley at Yellowstone National Park. His video racked up over 11M views to date, and is once again, making the viral rounds on the internet.

And as soon as you see it, you’ll understand why…

This thing is a BEAST… I mean, it looks like a dire wolf straight out of Game of Thrones.

Equally as majestic as it is terrifying. Can you imagine running into this thing on a dark and snowy road.

Check it out up close… nature is a beautiful thing.

Pit Bull and Wolf Go Nose To Nose In Wild Showdown

OK – let me start by clarifying, or not clarifying, the animals in question here.

The title of this video claims we have a pit bull and a wolf going head to head in a rare showdown caught on camera (or a potato, sorry for the horrendous quality). From what you can see, it does look relatively like a pit bull and a wolf, but the overall consensus says otherwise.

Many comments on the YouTube video point out that the wolf is in fact (or likely) a coyote, and that the pit bull is in fact a Dogo Argentino.

According to the American Kennel Club:

“The Dogo Argentino is a pack-hunting dog, bred for the pursuit of big-game such as wild boar and puma, and possesses the strength, intelligence and quick responsiveness of a serious athlete.

His short, plain and smooth coat is completely white, but a dark patch near the eye is permitted as long as it doesn’t cover more than 10% of the head. The ideal Dogo Argentino is a study in harmony. He is large, powerful, and athletic.

His strong head is supported by a thick, but elegant neck that connects to a balanced body, which is sustained by straight, substantial forelegs and very muscular, medium-angulated hindquarters. The Dogo gives the impression of explosive power and energy.

Developed to find, chase and catch dangerous game the Dogo must have a good nose, great lung capacity, and a powerful, yet agile, muscular build. His expression is alert and intelligent, with a marked hardness. The Dogo is instantly identifiable by his short, completely white coat.”

Yeah, basically a dog you most definitely do NOT want to mess with.

Since we can’t tell for sure, let’s just enjoy the video for what it is – crazy and unexpected. The battle for territory in that river sends one running…

However, the top-voted commented (made by Shawn Davison) clarified the ending:

“Good thing the dog stopped chasing. This is an age old tactic to get the dog to chase. See how the Coyote immediately starts to taunt at the dog to get it to chase?

The dog is then lead to where the pack is waiting and then they over power and kill the single animal that gave chase to the decoy.”

Don’t underestimate the sneakiness.

Watch it go down.

Bison Herd Tries To Help As Baby Pronghorn

Among the 3,468 square miles of Yellowstone National Park, it’s hard to even imagine everything that goes on amongst the wildlife out there.

However, lucky for us, we’re blessed with a number of videos taken by either the park or tourists, giving us all a glimpse of the natural beauty, and often times, not so pretty, aspects of the park.

In the latest edition of wild Yellowstone videos, a tourist shot a video of a black wolf chasing a baby pronghorn in Lamar Valley, Yellowstone, from their car.

The caption of the video reads:

“A black wolf chases a baby pronghorn in Lamar Valley, Yellowstone National Park.

The mother pronghorn helps protect the baby by trying to distract and make the wolf chase her instead. Even the bison try to help the baby pronghorn by blocking the wolf’s path.

The baby pronghorn was able to escape the wolf by using its amazing speed and endurance. Handheld video was taken from inside our car.

We were towing our trailer on our way to our campsite for the evening and were not prepared for this incredible sight!”

The mother pronghorn, which can quite easily outrun the lone wolf, tries to distract the savage killer from its pursuit of her baby. Pronghorn are the fastest North American land mammal, with a top speed of about 55 miles per hour.

However, they can sustain speeds of about 30 miles per hour for over 20 miles.

Needless to say, it’s no surprise why mom was trying to get the focus on her. Of course, the wolf is smarter than that…

But then, the bison herd appears to get involved, seemingly trying to cut off the wolf from its attack.

They don’t offer much help, but the young pronghorn seems to actually be doing fine on its own.

And while it’s rare to see a wolf hunt on its own like this, as they typically hunt in packs, we don’t know the outcome of this hunt. Did the little fella make it? Did more wolves join the hunt? Did the wolf get stomped by a bison?

Who knows…  what we do know, Yellowstone National Park is always down for something cool.

Pack Of Wolves Chase Elk Across The Road At Yellowstone National Park

Another day, another awesome animal encounter at Yellowstone National Park.

You never know what you’re gonna see at Yellowstone, but if you spend enough time there, you’re bound to get a front row seat to nature at its cruelest. Whether it’s a grizzly chasing down a bull elk, a wolf pack going toe to toe with a bear over a kill, or sometimes even a bison brawl bringing traffic to a complete stop.

This time, a driver stumbled upon members of the Wapiti Lake Wolf Pack, chasing down a cow elk in the Northern Range of the park. And unfortunately for the elk, she wasn’t fast enough…

“The wapiti lake wolf pack is made up of 20 wolves.

At last light I witnessed 7 wolves chase a cow elk across the road and eventually kill the elk 50 yards off the road.

This occurred in the northern range of Yellowstone National Park.”

I can honestly say the show Yellowstone has peaked my interest in the park, but when you actually dive into some of the incredible footage from parkgoers, you’re gonna wanna book you trip ASAP.
