Troy Aikman Says His EIGHT Beer Is “No Agenda, No Distractions, Just Great F*cking Beer” Amid Bud Light Boycotts

Why is nobody talking about the beer?

Sure, there are a lot of beer companies in the headlines these days with the controversy surrounding Bud Light’s decision to partner with transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney on a marketing campaign that led to immediate backlash and boycotts that have cost the company billions of dollars.

But the conversation isn’t about the beer itself. And Troy Aikman wants to change that.

Last year, the Hall of Fame quarterback who led the Dallas Cowboys to three Super Bowl victories before moving the booth after he hung up his helmet announced his newest business venture: His own brand of  beer, EIGHT.

Aikman launched EIGHT as an alternative to high-calorie beers, noting that the brand new line of beer features “organic grains, antioxidant-rich Hallertau Taurus hops, no adjuncts or cheap fillers, and no sugars, along with only 90 calories and 2.6g of carbs.”

Currently only available in Texas, Aikman recently took to Twitter amid the controversy surrounding other beer brands (lookin at you, Bud Light), saying that he wants to move the conversation back to the beer itself – calling his beer “just great f*cking beer” with no agenda:

“Everybody’s talking about beer companies these days, but nobody’s talking about beer.

I started EIGHT with the goal of creating a company dedicated to making really great light beer. No agenda, no distractions, just great f*cking beer.”

Actually talking about the beer? But then what would people get upset about?
