Woman’s Whole Life Flashes Before Her Eyes As Bison Nearly Headbutts Her At Yellowstone National Park

Yellowstone bison hits tourist

“Don’t pet the fluffy cows.”

When you see any wild animal, you should be respectful and probably stay away. But when it is the largest animal in North America? You should just stay FAR away.

Bison are the largest land mammals in North America, with males weighing up to 2,000 pounds. Yellowstone is home to one of the largest remaining wild bison populations in the world, so much so that millions of people travel to the park every year just to view these amazing creatures. The park provides an ideal habitat for bison, with its vast grasslands, meadows, and access to freshwater sources.

While bison are generally peaceful animals, it is important to exercise caution and respect their wild nature when encountering them in the wild. Like any animal, if they feel threatened, they will defend. An animal this large defending is a recipe for disaster.

Despite their massive size, bison are surprisingly agile and can reach speeds of 35 miles per hour…. so, faster than you. This is not an animal you want running you over.

Yellowstone National Park is home to approximately 4,500 to 5,000 bison, making it fairly normal to see these animals when you go there. Tourists have a bad habit of getting to close despite the numerous warnings from the park.

For example, the park cautions folks to stay at least 25 yards away from bison at all times. This woman is less than 25 inches…

This tourist is seen standing right next to a bison as she is on a boardwalk. The woman reaches out as if to touch it as she poses for a close up photo, but the bison had enough and gets right on top of her shaking his head, saying he can hurt her.

If he came at her a little harder, she would’ve taken that big bison headbutt right to the jaw.

It scares the woman enough and she takes off running falling flat on her face in the process… I can’t help but laugh.

Lesson learned… or at least, you hope so.
