Massive Alligator Gives Dragon-Like Mating Call At Florida State Park

Alligator

Incase you didn’t know, it’s mating season for alligators at the moment.

I’ll admit, I’d be lying if I said I could name a gator’s mating call off the bat. I just simply haven’t been around the creatures enough to recognize it, nor do I want to be either, considering they have the ability to literally kill you if they feel threatened enough.

Not to mention, male gators are going to be much more ornery during mating season, so it’s probably best to keep your distance during this time of year…

Or any time of year, for that matter.

That being said, if you needed any more proof that these things are straight up dinosaurs, look no further.

This wild scene all went down at Payne’s Prairie Preserve State Park in Alachua County, Florida, on the La Chua Trail. Andy Fischer caught the wild scene all on video, and shared it with FOX 35 Orlando.

In the video, you can hear the male gator give out a ferocious roar, sounding like any ol’ dragon roar you’d hear in an episode of Game of Thrones.

The caption reads:

“During a visit to a Florida state park, a man came across a large alligator appearing to charm another gator with its loud mating call and immediately stopped to take a video of the encounter.

Andy Fischer told FOX 35 News he has heard the bellowing sounds alligators make when trying to attract a mate, but it was his first time seeing it in person. He said he spotted the reptiles while on the La Chua Trail at Paynes Prairie Preserve State Park in Alachua County, Florida.”

It’s a good thing Fischer was a significant distance away while he captured it all on video.
