Hardy & Lainey Wilson Win Visual Media Of The Year ACM Award For “Wait In The Truck” Music Video

It’s no secret that Hardy and Lainey Wilson came out swinging with the bone chilling ballad “Wait in the Truck” last August.

And on top of that, the music video that came along with it was about as real as it gets, as it perfectly captures the moment Lainey Wilson’s fictional abuser meets his fate at the hands of Hardy, as he sits on the front porch and chiefs a cigarette as he waits for the police to arrive.

Needless to say, the song is further proof that great country music storytelling is making its way back to country music radio.

But speaking of the music video, HARDY and Wilson are officially reaping the benefits, as its officially won Visual Media of the Year at this year’s upcoming ACM Awards.

Previously dubbed Video of the Year, “Wait in the Truck” beat out Kelsea Ballerini’s “Heartfirst,” Cole Swindell’s “She Had Me at Heads Carolina,” Kane Brown and Katelyn Brown’s “Thank God,” Cody Johnson’s “‘Til You Can’t,” and Carly Pearce’s “What He Didn’t Do.”

The award goes to both the artist (or artists) featured in the song, and director, who was Justin Clough.
