A great capture on the trail cam.

Any time you manage to get a predator encounter on video, is always good.

Coyotes and bobcats are two of the most common predators in North America.

Coyotes are medium-sized canines that weigh up to 45 pounds, with males being larger than females. They are highly adaptable and can be found in almost every environment in North America, from urban areas to rural forests. Coyotes are opportunistic hunters and feed on a variety of prey, including small mammals, birds, insects, and even fruits and vegetables.

Bobcats are smaller than coyotes, weighing between 15-35 pounds, with males being larger than females. They are solitary hunters and are found in forested areas across North America. Bobcats are carnivorous and feed on a variety of prey, including small mammals, birds, reptiles, and fish.

Bobcats are skilled hunters and are known for their stealth and agility. They are capable of taking down prey that is much larger than themselves, such as deer and wild pigs.

Coyotes and bobcats can occasionally compete for the same prey. While there are instances of coyotes killing bobcats, there are also reports of bobcats attacking and killing coyotes. In general, these two species tend to avoid each other as much as they can.

So, it’s definitely a treat to see this go down. Nature is awesome.

The bobcat is seen standing as a coyote comes in and right up to him. The coyote comes in angry as it gets close and the bobcat takes off with two dogs hot on its tail.

The wild cat is seen flipping through the air multiple times before getting away from the dogs and taking off into the woods.

These predators are impressive creatures.
