Hunter Remains Calm As A Black Bear Charges In On Him

Black bear charge

This ain’t his first rodeo.

There’s not much that will make you as on guard as a good ol’ bear run in. The potential of a charge was always enough to keep me on my toes.

Black bears are the most common species of bear found in North America. They are large animals, with adult males weighing up to 600 pounds and 6 feet tall. Black bears are agile and fast runners, with a top speed of up to 30 miles per hour. These smart animals can climb trees and get into just about anything when they want to.

Black bears are omnivores, which means they eat both plants and animals. Their diet includes berries, nuts, roots, insects, fish, and small mammals. They have a powerful sense of smell, which helps them locate food from a distance.

While black bears are generally shy and avoid human contact, there are circumstances that can cause them to charge people. In most cases, these charges are defensive in nature and are a result of the bear feeling threatened or cornered.

This hunter is seen sighting in a tree stand holding a gun as he watches a bear down a cut out shooting lane.

The bear grazes in the grasses then out of nowhere turns and runs straight at the hunter quickly closing the gap.

The man calmly puts his gun forward but remains still past when many wouldn’t. The bear just bluff charges and turns away before ever reaching him. The bear then wanders off going on about his day.

Nothing like a bluff charge to get the blood pumping.
