New Colter Wall is coming SOON.

After quite some time without any new tunes from the Canadian cowboy, he announced on Instagram earlier this morning that his rendition of Hoyt Axton’s “Evangelina” will be out everywhere tomorrow.

If you click the link he shared on his stories, you can go ahead and pre-save the new song too:

The last real studio singles Colter put out came in September of last year, when he released “Cypress Hills and the Big Country” and a cover of “Let’s All Help the Cowboys (Sing the Blues).”

And we’ve known for a little while now that he does have a new album in the works, which has been a pretty long time coming, since he released his Western Swing & Waltzes and Other Punchy Songs album back in 2020.

So it stands to reason that this very well could be the lead single from a new project that’s hopefully coming soon, and Colter shared a couple teasers over on TikTok, which he apparently has now too:

“Evangelina” was written by Hoyt Axton and Kenneth Higginbotham, and performed by Hoyt for his 1976 Fearless album.

Colter previously shared a live acoustic cover of the song last year:
