DC Defenders Jam Out To Tim McGraw’s “Humble And Kind” On Victory Plane Ride Home

If there’s something better than cranking some tunes after you and the boys win a game, I don’t know what it is.

The XFL season is winding down and with only 2 weeks left in the season, the DC Defenders have staked their claim as best in the league with a 7-1 record, thanks to QB Jordan Ta’amu, RB Abram Smith, and the infamous beer snake.

Last week, the Defenders travelled to Seattle where they took down the Sea Dragons in a 34-33 barnburner and on the cross-country ride home, decided to crank up a tune to remind them that even in their success, they need to keep their heads on straight and finish the year strong.

Tim McGraw released “Humble And Kind” on his 2016 Damn Country Music album. Written by Lori McKenna, it was the second single from the project and became his 26th career number one. It also won the 2016 CMA for Song of the Year and 2017 Grammy for Best Country Song.

Okay, it certainly wasn’t the most raucous plane we’ve ever seen, and most people seemed to only know the “always stay humble and kind” line, but hey, maybe they were just soaking up the moment and letting ol’ Timmy preach.

Head coach Reggie Barlow captured the moment, posting it on Twitter saying:

“Man, I love these dudes!”

The XFL and country music just seem to fit together for some strange reason…
