HBO Drops Official Trailer For ‘True Detective: Night Country’

I’ll never forget scrolling through HBO and trying to find something good to watch about a year ago, and sure enough, this show called True Detective popped up.

Late to the game I know, but I decided to give it a go, and once I saw famed actors Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson starring in it, I couldn’t help but keep watching.

Now, three seasons later, we’re getting a fourth installation, titled True Detective: Night Country, and the first trailer has dropped today.

Of course, it’s been impossible to recreate the magic of Season 1, even with the start-studded cast of Season 2. And while Season 3 was still pretty good, the stakes are pretty high for this go.

Can True Detective become an elite series? This might be the turning point…

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the season will be led by Jodie Foster, and boxer-actress Kali Reis, and comes from writer-director Issa Lopez.

The storyline description reads:

“When the long winter night falls in Ennis, Alaska, the eight men who operate the Tsalal Arctic Research Station vanish without a trace.

To solve the case, Detectives Liz Danvers (Foster) and Evangeline Navarro (Reis) will have to confront the darkness they carry in themselves, and dig into the haunted truths that lie buried under the eternal ice.”

Lopez will take over for former series creator Nic Pizzolatto, and will write and direct all the episodes as well.

Not to mention, this is the first time we’ve gotten a new installation of the show in four years.
