Carrie Underwood Delivers Perfect Cover Of Barbara Mandrell’s “Years” At The Grand Ole Opry

Carrie Underwood country music

What a song.

Last summer, Carrie Underwood took the stage at the Grand Ole Opry to honor Barbara Mandrell with a stunning rendition of her hit “Years.”

The show was a special taping for Barbara’s 50th anniversary of being a member of the Opry, and of course, Carrie’s cover was perfect.

“Years” was written by Kye Fleming and Dennis Morgan, and released in December 1979 as the second single from her Just for the Record album. It ultimately became her third #1 on the country chart, and is one of my personal favorites, too.

In introducing the song, Carrie noted  what an honor it was to take the stage and honor one of country music’s all-time greats:

“It is an honor to be here tonight to honor the great Barbara Mandrell. It is your night, enjoy, have fun. Congratulations, we love you.”

Make sure you check it out on our Youtube channel below… I can’t get enough:
