American Idol contestant Marybeth Byrd delivered a gorgeous, powerful rendition of Zach Bryan’s fan-favorite, and current single at country radio, “Something In The Orange,” during last night’s episode.
From his 2022 debut studio album American Heartbreak, the song has become a breakout hit, for lack of a better term, streaming like crazy and even organically charting at country radio because it became so popular (which is why his label decided to push it as an official radio single).
The Armorel, Arkansas Marybeth native definitely put her own spin on the song, adding in some impressive vocal runs and making it her own, while still staying true to the original, and the palpable emotion comes through effortlessly.
Judge Katy Perry even remarked at the end:
“Marybeth Byrd for the win.”
