Another highlight of the CMT Awards last night was easily this performance.

Aside from the Lynyrd Skynyrd tribute and CoJo’s awesome performance of “Human,” Ashley McBryde and Wynonna Judd also teamed up to perform Foreigner’s 1984 power ballad “I Want To Know What Love Is,” which was another highlight of the evening.

Ashley opened quite a few shows on the Judd’s farewell tour over the last several months, and they’ve become quite a duo and pretty close friends, and I couldn’t love it more.

They have such a natural chemistry and sound great together, so hopefully the end of tour doesn’t mean they’re done working together forever… maybe Wynonna will even be featured on Ashley’s forthcoming (yet unofficially announced) studio album?

A girl can dream…

Of course, “I Want To Know What Love Is” became a mega hit in the 80’s, after the band released it in 1984 as the lead single from their fifth album Agent Provocateur, becoming a #1 hit in both the United Kingdom and the United States.

And while I would’ve loved to see Ashley and Wynonna duet a hit from The Judd’s, like “Why Not Me” or “Mama He’s Crazy,” this is pretty damn good too:
