Luke Combs Tells The Fascinating Stories Behind All The Songs On ‘Gettin’ Old’ With His Co-Writers

Luke Combs country music

If you’re a music nerd like me, then you’ll love this.

Luke Combs’ fourth studio album Gettin’ Old is out everywhere as of last Friday, and leading up to the release, he shared quite a few of the stories behind the songs and where he got his inspiration.

But now, he’s taking it a step further.

He put a new, hour-long video on his Youtube channel earlier, where many of the co-writers on the new record discuss and go in-detail about how, when and why each song was written.

And not only is it cool to hear about them straight from Luke, but it’s really neat to get insight from the other writers like Ray Fulcher, Jamie Davis, Jonathan Singleton and many others who had a big part of producing this record.

They discuss writing “Hannah Ford Road” in the Coyote Joe’s parking lot during what Luke called the hottest show ever last year (I was there, and honestly, that even feels like an understatement), the crazy story of how they got the idea for “You Found Yours” in a deer blind, how The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe played a part in creating “The Beer, the Band, and the Barstool” and finishing it in Boone late one night, and that’s just to quickly talk about a few.

Clearly, all of the guys are very talented songwriters and storytellers, so it’s really fascinating to be a fly on the wall, so to speak, and get some cool insight into the whole process of creating this project from start to finish.

If you’re looking for something to watch tonight or this weekend, I definitely recommended this Stories Behind the Songs feature.

I wish every artist did this for every album they release, honestly. It’s truly fascinating:
