The age old question…

Does a bear shit in the woods?

Well, it’s complicated and the answer is… usually. But as seen here, they may do it anywhere… even in the middle of the street.

Black bears are the smallest of the three bear species found in North America, with adult males being able to weigh over 600-pounds. Black bears are also the most common bear species found in North America, with an estimated population of around 900,000 in the United States alone.

Black bears are omnivores, meaning that they eat both plants and animals. Their diet can vary depending on the time of year and the availability of food in their environment. In the spring and early summer, black bears primarily eat grasses, roots, and other vegetation, as well as insects such as ants and beetles. During the summer and fall, black bears will eat a wide variety of fruits and berries, such as blueberries, raspberries, and apples. They will also eat nuts, such as acorns and hazelnuts.

When getting ready for hibernation these bears need to consume 5,000 calories so they have enough fat reserves.

With that much food comes… poop.

This bear decided to put that on full display for the fine people at the popular Whistler Blackcomb Resort in British Columbia.

As cars stopped to make sure they didn’t hit the wandering bear, the black bear walks out in front of them, pauses for a second and then lets it all go right in front of every one.
