There continues to be a lot of uncertainty about the future of Yellowstone right now, as there hasn’t been any more information released about Kevin Costner’s film scheduling issues with the show.
Costner allegedly wanted only a week to film the second half of Yellowstone Season Five due to his busy schedule with his upcoming movie Horizon in the works, which ultimately delayed filming for the second half.
Now, there’s been talks about the possibility of scrapping the rest of the show, and starting a new spinoff series starring Matthew McConaughey and a number of the original cast members from the show.
Not to mention, it appears that we’ll be lucky to get a second half of Season Five premiere by November, when it was originally slated for this summer.
However, Costner’s attorney Marty Singer has denied these allegations, saying:
“The idea that Kevin was only willing to work one week on the second half of season 5 of ‘Yellowstone’ is an absolute lie.
It’s ridiculous – and anyone suggesting it shouldn’t be believed for one second. As everyone who knows anything about Kevin is well aware, he is incredibly passionate about the show and has always gone way above and beyond to ensure its success.”
A spokesperson from the show also sent out a statement saying:
“We have no news to report. Kevin Costner is a big part of ‘Yellowstone,’ and we hope that’s the case for a long time to come.”
Although we’ve been hearing a bunch of bad news about the future of the show, there’s one famed actor in particular who admitted in an interview with ET Canada that he would actually love an opportunity to join the show, and it’s no other than John Wick himself, Keanu Reeves.
The interviewer asked Reeves if he would ever like a surprise role in a show like Yellowstone, and he responded:
“I’d love to do a western, so yeah sure.”
Short but sweet.
But seriously, it would be pretty cool to see yet another massive name in the film industry join the cast of the most popular TV show on the planet.
