Another #1 record for the great Dolly Parton.

On this day in 1991, she released her 31st solo studio album Eagle When She Flies, which ultimately peaked at #1 on the country charts.

It was her first solo album to peak at #1 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart since the ’80s, when 9 to 5 and Odd Jobs became a massive hit record for the country icon. Dolly was the executive producer of Eagle When She Flies, with Steve Buckingham and Gary Smith co-producing.

The tracklist included collabs with Lorrie Morgan and Ricky Van Shelton, and Vince Gill and Emmylou Harris lent their voices on background vocals for most of the 11 songs featured on the project.

Dolly’s duet with Ricky, “Rockin’ Years”, was the only #1 single from the record, with “Silver and Gold” peaking at #15 on the country charts, and the title track peaking at #33.

The record was certified Platinum in by the RIAA in 1992, and is full of great country songs, so make sure you turn some of these up today…
