Tom Sizemore, the famed actor who is known for his roles in Saving Private Ryan, Natural Born Killers, and Heat, has passed away at the age of 61, according to CNN.

The actor was hospitalized after he had a brain aneurysm in mid-February, according to his representative Charles Lago.

Lago said in a statement that Sizemore:

“Passed away peacefully in his sleep”

He died at Saint Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, California, with his two sons and his brother, Paul, by his side.

Paul said in the statement:

“I am deeply saddened by the loss of my big brother Tom. He was larger than life. He has influenced my life more than anyone I know.

He was talented, loving, giving and could keep you entertained endlessly with his wit and storytelling ability. I am devastated he is gone and will miss him always.”

This past Monday, doctors informed the family that there was “no further hope” and recommended “end of life decision,” due to the severity of the aneurysm.

The statement continues:

“We are asking for privacy for his family during this difficult time and they wish to thank everyone for the hundreds of messages of support, and prayers that have been received. This has been a difficult time for them.”

Sizemore was born in Detroit, Michigan, and was known for his roles as the “tough guy” in various movies, with roles in Saving Private Ryan, Natural Born Killers, Heat, China Beach, Point Break, True Romance, Wyatt Earp, Pearl Harbor, Black Hawk Down, and more.
