National Park Service Offers Advice For Bear Sightings: “If You Come Across A Bear, Never Push A Slower Friend Down”

As Spring springs to life, the National Park Service starts putting out its warnings for possible bear sightings.

But with their recent lively activity on Twitter, this year they are offering a new bit of advice when it comes to bears:

“If you come across a bear, never push a slower friend down… even if you feel the friendship has run its course.”

Props to NPS for this awesome advice, though I’ve got to agree with the comments, this might be situational.

One user asked on Twitter, “What if you’re the slower friend?” And the National Park replied:

“Check in on your friendship before you head to the woods.”

Another user clarified:

“We can push them for the buffaloes, right?”

Others inquired about what Cocaine Bear would offer in terms of suggestions for bear safety…
