There’s no ifs, ands, or buts about it, Lainey Wilson is dominating the country music game right now.

She was just the first female in over a decade to have two songs in the Top 10 simultaneously, is killing it in her role as Abby on Yellowstone, was last year’s CMA Female Vocalist of the Year and New Artist of the Year, and is still riding high from her Bell Bottom Country album released at the end of 2022.

She also blew up the internet for her noteworthy backside, but I’ll leave you to do some research if you’re so inclined…

Regardless, things are on a flat out scream to the top, with Lainey easily positioned to be one of the biggest acts in all of country music over the next few years, in no small part thanks to her live show, which if you haven’t seen, you need to get your ass to one pronto.

She’s currently on her sold-out Country With A Flare Tour and last week decided to honor the great Merle Haggard with a live performance of his 1980 Number One “I Think I’ll Just Stay Here And Drink”, and my goodness did she crush it.

With her signature swagger, I’m thinking we need a full cover of this one. Maybe a whole cover album?

Certainly wouldn’t be mad about it…

Here’s another performance from the Grand Ole Opry’s Merle Haggard tribute show:
