On Sunday, the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Cincinnati Bengals 23-20 to punch their ticket to the Super Bowl.

Needless to say, the Chiefs had a lot of fuel added to the fire going into the game, considering the Cincinnati mayor called out Patrick Mahomes, and even started calling their stadium (Arrowhead Stadium), Burrowhead Stadium, eluding to the fact that the Chiefs haven’t beaten the Bengals with Joe Burrow at quarterback.

In sports, this is called “bulletin board” material:

And it backfired… BIG time.

One of the Chiefs players who was ready to immediately call out Mayor Pureval after the win, was star tight end Travis Kelce.

During Patrick Mahomes’ postgame interview, he interrupted by saying:

“Burrowhead my ass. WOO. It’s Mahomes’ house.”

And during the trophy ceremony, Kelce said again, giving his best Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson impersonation he could:

“How about this beautiful trophy. Huh? Hey I’ve got some wise words for that Cincinnati mayor: know your role and shut your mouth, you jabroni!”

Needless to say, the guy was FIRED UP.

And his words didn’t go unnoticed as “The Rock” himself couldn’t help but comment on Kelce’s “jabroni” impression.

The famed wrestler and actor took to Twitter, and responded to Kelce’s comments by saying:

“My boy Trav out here cuttin’ Rock promos with the Love it!! Travis Kelce, Super bowl bound!!”

“My boy said what he said. I appreciate the venomous ‘shut yo’ over formal ‘shut your'”

As they say… real recognizes real.

Throwback to one of The Rock’s all-time great catchphrases:
