Yessir, that seems like a mismatch.

When it comes to protecting their young these wild animals sure step it up. Size and strength aren’t in the picture… just how much the mother is willing to fight.

Snowy owls are one of the most distinctive and recognizable species of birds, known for their distinctive white plumage and bright yellow eyes. These beautiful birds are found in the Arctic tundra and are one of the few species of birds that can tolerate the harsh and cold conditions up there.

Snowy owls are rather large birds, with wingspans that can reach up to five feet, and they are powerful hunters. They feed on a variety of prey, including small mammals, birds, and fish and are known for their fierce territorial instincts. Snowy owls will defend their nests and hunting grounds against perceived threats, making them formidable predators in their environment.

Wolves on the other hand, are social animals that live and hunt in packs. They are known for their strength, intelligence, and adaptability, and they play an important role in maintaining the balance of ecosystems by preying on weak and sick animals. These dogs will eat just about anything they think is a meal.

This snowy owl was at its nesting site looking after its young when a wolf came into view and it got too close for comfort.

The snowy owl takes off with speed and strikes the wolf in the rear end in an effort to scare it off for good. The size difference doesn’t matter as this owl has plenty of fight.

The owl circles in for another strike but the wolf is ready and actually jumps up trying to grab it. It circles around and strikes another wolf. The pressure forces the wolves to go away and the owl comes out on top against the pack of wolves.

A mother’s love goes a long way out in the wild.
