Jon Pardi Is Recording A Christmas Album: “No Boring-A** Christmas Songs”

Jon pardi country music

We all know and love Jon Pardi as a country artist who has been leading the charge to keep pure, traditional country music on country music radio.

I feel like every time he drops a new song, I feel like I’ve taken a time machine back to the good ol’ days of ’90s country music, and he’s by far one of my favorite mainstream country artists in the game right now.

His latest album, Mr. Saturday Night, was one of our personal favorites here at Whiskey Riff, and it’s exciting to see what’s to come for the Californian.

On top of that, the guy can cover the hell out of some songs too. Just give his 2020 Rancho Fiesta Sessions cover album a listen, and you’ll understand.

Although Pardi released his latest album only a few short months ago, the man is looking for a quick turn around in 2023, as he announced to CMT that he’s already back in the studio recording…

But this time, he’s taking a whole new leap in his career. He’s recording Christmas music for the first time.

He told the outlet:

“We’re really excited about it. We’re doing a damn Christmas record. It’s really fun. I’ve been in songwriter land and baby land and mixing land.”

Pardi also admitted that there won’t be any original music on the album, as he’s been busy writing his own material for his next country album.

However, he assured us that we can expect upbeat, good timin’ Christmas music:

“I did go through a lot more pop songs and other stuff. I can’t give it away because I was really detailed in what we’re recording. But we’re not singing ‘Silent Night’ or ‘O Holy Night’ or any boring-ass Christmas songs.”

He also referred to the project as “Christmas with a drink:”

“It’s very up-tempo and fun. I feel like there’s all kinds of weird Christmas songs that everybody does. It’s a merry Christmas party.”

Get ready, even though we still have an 11 month wait.
