Charles Wesley Godwin Covers Townes Van Zandt While In The Studio Recording Third Album

Charles Wesley Godwin country music

This is the news I live for…

We know Charles Wesley Godwin is hard at work on his third career album, and over the weekend he gave us a bit of an update on the project, along with another killer cover to add to his long list of killer covers.

Charles and the band wrapped up tracking for the new album, and then with some leftover time decided to lay down a beautiful cover of Townes Van Zandt’s “Don’t Take It Too Bad,” originally released on a self-titled album in 1969.

Supported with an upright bass and steel guitar, the song has probably never sounded better.

Okay, everything Charles sings is pretty much the best sounding thing ever…

Absolutely cannot wait for this next project, and if it’s anything like How The Mighty Fall, we’re in for a hell of a treat.

“The boys and I had some free time after finishing tracking for album 3!

Decided to play some Townes. Enjoy!”
