This is the moment we’ve all been waiting for.
Members of congress gathered today for a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing that explored if Ticketmaster/Live Nation is a monopoly that has stifled competition and hurt consumers, and while of course it’s a very serious topic, lawmakers just couldn’t help themselves but to quote the artist who served as the catalyst for all of this, Taylor Swift.
Seriously, it looked like they were truly enjoying themselves, perhaps thinking that their teenage daughters would think they were cool for the first time.
There are various lawsuit in the legal system now, some filed before the Taylor Swift tour debacle and some filed due to it, and while I hope music fans and artists will get something out of it, at least we have these incredible soundbites to look back on.
