Chilling Doorbell Cam Footage Captures Moment Of Shooting Involving Alabama Basketball Player Darius Miles

Alabama shooting

Yesterday, we were hit with the tragic news that University of Alabama basketball player Darius Miles was charged with capital murder after a late night shooting in Tuscaloosa, leaving one young woman dead.

The victim was identified as 23-year-old Jamea Jonae Harris of Birmingham.

Miles, 21, was a junior forward on the basketball team. Although he was on the team’s bench during their game against LSU on Saturday night, he was not dressed, as the team had announced that he would miss the rest of the season due to an ankle injury.

Needless to say, it’s an absolutely heartbreaking situation all around, and our thoughts and prayers go out to Harris and her family.

With that being said, Ring doorbell footage captured the moment the incident occurred.

In the chilling footage, you can see a car drive by, and then hear several shots fired as you can see two girls running for their lives, and you can hear another girl in the background saying:

“Oh my God!”

The incident unfolded in an area near the campus, called “The Strip,” according to Tuscaloosa police captain Jack Kennedy. The other suspect arrested was 20-year-old Michael Lynn Davis of Maryland, who has no affiliation to the school or basketball team.

One of the suspects was reportedly injured after someone in the victim’s car returned fire in retaliation.

According to the New York Post, Kennedy told reporters after the incident:

“At this time, it appears that the only motive was a minor altercation that these individuals had with the victim as they were out on The Strip.”

He also noted that Miles and Harris didn’t have a previous relationship.

Video footage was also released of Miles visibly upset during a perp walk:
