Remember When Brad Paisley Said Post Malone’s Version of “I’m Gonna Miss Her” Is Better Than His Own?

The year was 2021.

Post Malone appeared on Matthew McConaughey‘s We’re Texas virtual benefit concert (to raise money for victims of the brutal winter storm), and stole the show covering country music.

Not just any country music, but Sturgill Simpson’s “You Can Have The Crown” and a hugely underrated Brad Paisley song in “I’m Gonna Miss Her.”

Post just got high praise from Paisley, with Brad saying Post’s version is better than his own.

Always humbling when another artist does your song better than you.”

“@postmalone, well done. Check out the link in bio to donate to @officiallymcconaughey We’re Texas Fundraiser.”

He shared the clip on his Instagram.

How ’bout that Post Malone country album? I promise you it’ll be better than 90% of what you hear on the radio. The reaction to this incredibly talented, jack-of-all-trades, artist has been astonishing – people want him to do a country album, whether that be covers or originals, working with Koe Wetzel, or Dwight Yoakam.

JUST MAKE IT HAPPEN.

Here’s the full cover.

And the original.

Post Malone Joins Dwight Yoakam For A “Thousand Miles From Nowhere” Duet

Post Malone and Dwight Yoakam… the duet you didn’t know you needed.

During the summer of 2018, Post Malone swung by Dwight Yoakam’s SiriusXM show, Dwight Yoakam & The Bakersfield Beat, and… your new favorite duo was born.

In all seriousness, this is just some guys bein’ dudes. Not just any dudes, but these two seem like two of the coolest dudes you could ever meet, so when they busted out the guitars, a little magic happened.

Malone and Yoakam sang Dwight’s classic, “A Thousand Miles From Nowhere,” as Post has long said he’s a huge fan of traditional country.
