But now that it has been a full season, can we safely look back and conclude that Urban Meyer is the worst NFL coach of all time?
Looks like it…
From the garbage performance of his team, to the viral video of a girl grinding on him at a bar, not taking responsibility for anything, blaming players, calling his assistant coaches losers, and even kicking his own kicker… it was a total shit show down in Jacksonville.
And all while you have one of the best quarterback prospects in the game.
Jags safety Andrew Wingard summed it all up:
"I'm so happy for Trevor because he had to deal with Urban Meyer last year." "I would die for Doug Pederson I swear. I love the guy."
Now that the Jaguars, under new head coach Doug Pederson, have clinched a playoff spot by winning the AFC South division title, it’s pretty safe to say that it wasn’t the team… it was the coach.
So while the Jaguars secured the division title this season, former head coach Urban Meyer secured the title of worst NFL coach of all time. And yeah, we all watched the absolute trainwreck that Denver Broncos coach Nathaniel Hackett was this season.
Jury is still out on what Denver can be next season… so as of right now, Meyer takes the cake.
Hindsight is always 20/20. And for sure Jacksonville added key pieces this off-season. But still. This just underscores Urban Meyer last season was the worst coaching job in the history of the NFL, right?
Doug Pederson has the Jaguars in the playoffs in Year 1. If this were Year 2 of Urban Meyer they'd be 4-13 and Meyer would be telling all of us in the media that we just don't understand how rebuilding a team the right way takes time.
