The one-season wonder.

Peyton Hillis was a bit of a phenomenon in the 2010 NFL season where he racked up a whopping 1,600 yards and 13 touchdown… good enough to land him on the cover of Madden ’12 the following year.

The Arkansas native never followed up that magical season with another successful campaign, but he became a kind of a underdog hero among football fans.

And now, he needs our prayers.

According to his uncle, he is in intensive care with lung and kidney issues, as a result of a swimming accident.

He reportedly rescued his children from drowning in the ocean, and suffered some kind of complication from it. The kids are safe.

He’s reportedly doing better, but still in intensive care:

Prayers up for Peyton Hillis.
