Bills Safety Damar Hamlin Given CPR After Collapsing On Field… Game Temporarily Suspended

Damar Hamlin Footb all

Some absolutely heartbreaking news is coming out of Cincinnati, in the Monday Night Football game between the Buffalo Bills vs. Cincinnati Bengals.

Midway through the first quarter, Bills safety Damar Hamlin took a hit while tackling Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins.

The former Pittsburgh Panther stood up for a brief second after the tackle, stood there for a second, and then collapsed to the ground, appearing to be unresponsive.

Medical staff attended to Hamlin, and eventually had to bring out the stretcher and ambulance, as the trainers were reportedly administering CPR on the field.

Nearly 10 minutes had passed, and a handful of commercial breaks, and Hamlin was still down on the field receiving CPR.

It’s uncertain what the medical issue was, but judging by the response from both teams, it appears to be extremely serious and life-threatening:

He eventually left the field in an ambulance, on his way to a local hospital… his condition remains unknown.

After meeting with both teams, referees announced that the game has been temporarily suspended and both teams returned to the locker room.

I don’t recall ever seeing anything like this before in the NFL… just keep the 24-year-old and his family in your prayers.

Players, coaches, media members and fans took to social media to share their support and prayers for Hamlin:
