Carrie Underwood And Dolly Parton’s Duet Of “I Will Always Love You” Is Absolutely Beautiful

What a duo…

Back in 2009, Carrie Underwood hosted her Carrie Underwood: All Star Holiday Special, and invited Dolly Parton to come sing one of her signature songs with her, one you’ve probably heard a time or two, “I Will Always Love You.”

Dolly released it as a stand alone single in 1974, when it peaked at #1 on the U.S. Billboard Hot Country Songs chart later that year, and then rereleased it October 1982, with a re-recording for The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas soundtrack.

And of course, Whitney Houston eventually covered the track for the iconic 1992 film The Bodyguard, and it spent spent 14 weeks at #1 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart, setting a new record at the time, when it became one of the best-selling singles of all time and the best-selling single by a woman.

It’s a classic in every sense of the word, and of course, Carrie was ecstatic to take the stage with one of her idols to duet what is probably one of the most widely-known songs of all time, saying in part:

“Well once again, I’m just so excited. This is every girl that grows up wanting to sing country music, this is her dream, to get on the stage and sing this next song that you wrote with you.

‘I Will Always Love You’ Is the name, do you know it?”

I don’t know where this video has been all my life, but I’m certainly happy I found it… these two are incredible vocalists and their duet is absolutely beautiful:
