When are we gonna get a real deal Christmas album, Lukas Nelson?

Though that’s not typically something I’d ever request, from any artist, honestly, I think he could absolutely nail it.

And with Christmas coming up this weekend, he’s been sharing quite a few covers of his favorite’s on Instagram, like “Mele Kalikimaka,” “Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer,” and one of my personal favorites, “Silent Night.”

“Mele Kalikimaka” is quite fitting, as he was raised in and still lives in Hawaii part-time, and though it’s not one I typically gravitate towards, I could of course listen to him sing it all damn day…

I guess you’re never too old to listen to “Rudolph,” which is a tune his dad, the great Willie Nelson, also covered on his 1979 Pretty Paper album:

And lastly, one of the greatest, most classic Christmas songs of all time, Lukas nailed this piano version of “Silent Night.”

Another one that was included on Willie’s Pretty Paper album, I’d love to get a studio cut of Lukas’ rendition one day. It’s so pure and tender, and I simply cannot get enough…

Yep, those will get you in the Christmas spirit, no doubt about it…

And here’s Willie’s “Silent Night,” because it’s top-notch too:
