Waylon Jennings And Jessi Colter’s Version Of “Silent Night” Is Absolutely Beautiful

Waylon Jennings Jessi Colter country music

Now this is how you cover a Christmas classic…

Back in the mid-80’s, Waylon Jennings and Jessi Colter teamed up for an absolutely beautiful duet of “Silent Night.”

This particular version was included on the collaborative A Country Christmas, Volume 3 record that was released in 1984, and also included features from other country artists in The Judd’s, Alabama, Charley Pride and more on other classics.

And of course, “Silent Night” is one of the most recognizable and famous Christmas songs of all-time, and is credited as being composed by Franz Xaver Gruber and lyrics from Joseph Mohr in the small town of Oberndorf bei Salzburg, Austria in the early 1800’s.

We all know there’s plenty of bad Christmas songs and covers out there, but this is certainly NOT one of them…

It simply doesn’t get much better than Waylon and Jessi singing together, especially on this stunning, simple piano-filled live performance:
