The Official ‘Cocaine Bear’ Trailer Has Dropped, & It Looks NUTS

Coke bear

Wow, I was NOT expecting this.

Last year, news surfaced about a new movie in the works about a legendary bear that swallowed a shit ton of cocaine and died in Chattahoochee National Forest, near the Georgia/Tennessee state line.

For those who missed it or need a little refresher, here’s a little rundown of the wild story:

A former Kentucky narcotics officer and lawyer turned drug dealer, Andrew Thornton II, was on a drug run from Colombia when he dropped $15 million worth of cocaine from a plane in several spots all across the southeast.

Topping off his run, he jumped from his auto-piloted plane, but died in a free-fall after getting caught up in his parachute.

The now legendary black bear thought he’d stick his nose in one of these rogue piles of the devil’s dandruff… and after packing his stomach full, he died.

The bear’s body was stuffed ended up in a pawn shop, and then owned by Waylon Jennings, and now currently resides in the KY for KY store in Lexington, Kentucky, where it’s a bit of a tourist attraction.

Enter the movie…

We now know that the movie is slated to drop February 24, 2023, and is starring the likes of Keri Russell, Ray Liotta, Alden Ehrenreich, and O’Shea Jackson Jr.

With that being said, the official trailer for Cocaine Bear has dropped, and it looks NUTS.

Now I’ll admit, I didn’t know how they were going to turn this story into a movie, and what angle they would take. I was under the impression it would be more about Thornton II running drugs and the investigation following the crash, as well as the bizarre death of the bear.

Turns out, it’s a full-on comedic horror film.

In the trailer, the tweaked out bear basically goes on this rampage and attacks and eats several people alive, as law enforcement tries to track it down in the hills of Knoxville, Tennessee.

When they say inspired by true events, we’re talking VERY loosely, but the nevertheless, it could be entertaining.
