Morgan Wallen & Ernest’s Steel-Soaked Country Heartbreaker “Flower Shops” Officially Certified Platinum

Morgan Wallen Ernest country music

There ain’t nothin’ like a good old fashioned, steel-soaked country heartbreaker.

Morgan Wallen and Ernest dropped the fan-favorite song “Flower Shops” back on New Year’s Eve of 2021, and was the lead single to Ernest’s 2022 second studio album Flower Shops (The Album).

Filled with some absolutely beautiful steel guitar, the song was written by Ernest, Ben Burgess, and Mark Holman and was inspired by George Jones’ classic “A Good Year For The Roses.”

It’s easily my favorite song either artist has ever released, and as of yesterday, was officially certified Platinum by the RIAA, which means it has moved an impressive over 1,000,000 units in total so far.

Ernest, a Nashville native himself, has 11 co-writes on Morgan’s 2021, album Dangerous, and released his own album earlier this year, the aforementioned Flower Shops (The Album).

He’s been out opening for Morgan on his extensive Dangerous tour this year, and recently told us at Greenville Country Music Fest that he would “f*ck the shit out of a steel guitar,” so it really adds up as to why it’s featured so heavily on “Flower Shops.”

He also reassured us that:

“It’s funny cause I love fiddle lol I got fiddle on some new shit. But I couldn’t kill banjo.”

Stay tuned for more, fiddle-filled tunes from Ernest in 2023.

And make sure you check out the “Flower Shops” music video if you haven’t seen it yet, these two really outdid themselves with this stunner of a song:

And I of course love the acoustic version, too:
