This group of girls has got some pipes on them.

You can’t help but be drawn to an Ashley McBryde performance, to begin with, but then put her on stage with Brandy Clark, Caylee Hammack, Pillbox Patti, and John Osborne on guitar…you have a recipe for a kick-ass performance.

This year for the 2022 CMA Awards, the group graced the stage to sing “When Will I Be Loved,” famously sung by Linda Ronstadt. Of course the song was also released on Ashley’s recent collaborative concept album, Lindeville.

The song was initially written and recorded by The Everly Brothers, and was a top ten hit for them, but Linda Ronstadt’s version nearly topped the charts when she released it on her 1975 album, Heart Like A Wheel.

The single charted at number two on the Billboard Hot 100, making it known across the U.S. and among country-rock fans.

Tonight, the song was honored perfectly.

McBryde opened the tune with a powerful start nailing the vocals. The rest of the group comes in to drop some stunning harmonies. As the chorus comes up, everyone is having a great time together.

Each part is belted out in the best way, and Osborne and his band lay down rockin’ guitar licks.

This was a perfect way for McBryde to celebrate her CMA Musical Event of the Year win earlier in the night.

Well done, gang.

For fun, here’s Linda Ronstadt’s version.
