Twitter Sounds Off After Peacock Announces New Casey Anthony Docuseries

Casey Anthony

Jumping on that Jeffrey Dahmer money, eh?

Most of y’all will remember the Casey Anthony case from back in 2008, the Florida woman who was accused of killing her two year old daughter, Caylee.

A ton of signs pointed towards Casey being the killer, in fact, much like OJ Simpson, she’s “guilty” in the court of public opinion, as the evidence against her was shady AF at best… and downright horrific at worst.

But even with a story that made no sense, Casey was found not guilty of first-degree murder, and is currently a free woman. It’s still one of the most high-profile murder cases in recent memory, with now, the recent success of the new Netflix Jeffrey Dahmer series, Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, it’s no surprise that jumping on another murder story is the move.

With that being said the streaming site Peacock has announced a Casey Anthony docuseries, titled Casey Anthony: Where the Truth Lies, and it’s all about the investigation that took place 14 years ago, according to Variety.

The streaming service also released a short teaser, showing Casey Anthony in the flesh while dressed in all black, and the interviewer asks:

“Why talk to me now when you’re not getting creative control?”

The series is slated to drop November 29th, and directed by Alexandra Dean.

Looks like ol’ Casey is looking for a little cash grab 11 years after the trial, and of course, Peacock has a great opportunity to make profit off one of America’s most well-known scumbags… a documentary was probably inevitable at some point.

But needless to say, people are absolutely outraged that this is in the works, and they weren’t afraid to voice their opinions on Twitter:
