I’m a full believer that people can do whatever the hell they want, because at the end of the day, they’re the ones who are gonna have to pay the price.
For example, these adrenaline junkies that go cliff diving, hang off buildings, etc…
You know, as long as you accept the fact that you could be sending yourself to the afterlife, hey, by all means.
Of course, I couldn’t ever do that because I nearly have a heart attack looking out the window of a tall building, but hey, you do you.
However, I’m not sure if I could ever condone this sort of move with your damn KIDS SITTING RIGHT BEHIND YOU.
In this video, you can see a father make his way out over a hanging ledge on top of the iconic Half Dome in Yosemite National Park, and he settles down only a couple of feet off the tiny edge, looking out to the hundreds of feet between him and his death bed.
And the worst part?
His young kid was sitting right behind him, only a few feet from the edge themselves.
You can hear one of them say:
“What if you fall off daddy?”
Well, kid… your dad’s gonna disintegrate.
He responded to the video in the caption:
“No Half Dome summit is complete without dangling your feet. From this vantage point you can see the ‘Thank God Ledge.’ Years ago I climbed the Regular route and it took 2.5 days.
It would be so rad to do the route again with my kids in the future. We are hopefully headed there this fall with some smaller multi-pitch climbs to tick.”
I’m literally sick just watching it, but hey, you do you dad
