Shania Twain has been a busy woman this year.

The queen of pop country is finally back to making music again after a long layoff, releasing her new single “Waking Up Dreaming” last month.

And now, she can add an acting role to the list, as she’s gearing up to play Mrs. Potts in ABC’s two-hour animated and live-action special, Beauty And The Beast, set to air on Thursday, December 15th, as part of the movie’s 30th anniversary celebration.

According to CMT, directors Hamish Hamilton and executive producer Jon M. Chu called up Shania to play the role of Mrs. Potts. the friendly tea kettle on the movie who is the mother of Chip.

Not to mention, the cast is star-studded in itself, featuring H.E.R. to play Belle, Josh Groban as the Beast, Joshua Henry as Gaston, and Rita Moreno as the narrator.

Other cast members include the likes of Martin Short (Lumiere), Rizwan Manji (LeFou), David Allen Grier (Cogsworth), and Jon Jon Briones (Maurice).

Leo Abuelo Perry will play Chip, so Twain will be working side by side with him.

Twain shared the news to her Instagram account, saying:

“I am unbelievably honoured… and excited… and all of the emotions(!!) to announce that I will be joining the cast of #BeautyAndTheBeast30th to play the part of my favourite character – Mrs. Potts.

And of course, I would be remiss if I didn’t pay tribute to the iconic Angela Lansbury, I mean she IS Mrs. Potts and the reason why this character is so beloved. To follow in the foot steps of such an icon is a huge honour and I hope to do the part justice. Airing December 15 on ABC network.”
