Farm Animals Band Together To Save Chicken From Hawk Attack

Like the great Tracy Lawrence once said, “Ya find out who your friends are,” and it looks like this chicken has a lot of ’em on the farm.

According to the New York Post, Jaap Beets, a farmer in Gelderland, Netherlands, was in his farmhouse doing some good ol’ boy work, when he heard some ruckus going on outside.

When he went to check, he saw the end of a nasty fight between a goshawk and one of his chickens. Lucky for the chicken, Beets’ rooster and a goat came in and saved the day, whoopin’ the hawk’s ass and sending it back home where it came from.

“I was so proud of the rooster and the goat jumping in to defend our chicken. I was also very relieved that the chicken survived.”

CCTV footage caught all of the fight, and you can see the hawk come swooping in, taking dead aim at the chicken. That’s when the rooster stepped in, and the goat came sprinting in seconds later to seal the deal.

The chicken suffered a few minor injuries, but Beets said that the other farm animals rallied around her to help her out.

The 59-year-old said this wasn’t the first time one of his chickens had been attacked:

“In the seven years I have lived here, it’s the third attack on our chickens. This was the second from a goshawk and the other was a buzzard.”

“That goat though, what a hero. He deserves a whole bale of alfalfa to himself.”

The goat was living up to his name… GOAT.

And since I’m in the Tracy Lawrence mood now, listen to one of his all time greats:
