If you grew up playing youth sports, then you already know that parents are the worst part about it.

They vicariously live out their lives through their child in hopes that one day they’ll be the ones playing pro sports, even though the chances of that are next to none, and typically end up making an ass of themselves in the process.

And then you have parents like this, who are the absolute scum of the earth…

Back in November of last year, a teenage girl was in some hot water after she sucker punched 15-year-old Lauryn Ham during a basketball game in Southern California, leaving her with a brutal concussion.

Now, according to TMZ, Tira Hunt, the mother of the girl who punched Ham, has been ordered to pay $9,000 in restitution to the victim after convincing her daughter to sucker punch her.

Hunt was already facing misdemeanor charges for contributing to the delinquency of a minor and battery over the move, and could face up to a year in prison if convicted, but has instead opted to enter a diversion program.

Hunt is also required to send written apologies to the victim and her parents, and must stay away from the victim and attend anger management classes.

Ham’s mother, Alice, told ABC7 last year:

“Of course I was in total shock. Just couldn’t believe that could happen to my child.

The person in question went down the court and shot a 3-pointer, landed, fell backwards into my daughter.

As they got up and turned and were walking back down to the other side of the court, her mom says to her, ‘You need to hit her for that.’ And the child in question sucker punched my daughter.”

The girl who threw the punch is the daughter of former NBA player Corey Benjamin, and at the time of the incident, he made it sure to be known that “this is not how I raised my daughter.”

He said:

“To the young lady who was punched by my daughter during a youth basketball game, I sincerely apologize to you and I am praying for your complete healing both physically and emotionally.

To her family, I deeply apologize and regret that this happened to your daughter as she did not deserve this to happen to her.

Finally, I apologize to all of those who have been impacted and hurt by the actions of my daughter as well as those of her mother. I am here for your family and wish only the best for you.”
