This Old Video Of Tyler Childers Playing “Shake The Frost” From Way Back In 2011 Is Solid Gold

Tyler Childers country music

Whatta time to be alive.

Why, you may ask?

Because Tyler Childers, arguably the most well-known independent country artist on the planet, has a new album on the way titled Can I Take My Hounds to Heaven?

From everything he’s said so far, we’re getting a full blown gospel album, and he kicked things off by dropping two versions (Hallelujah and Jubilee) of the lead single, “Angel Band.”

Needless to say, I have a feeling this one will be worth the wait after his 2020 Long Violent History and 2019 Country Squire albums.

I’ve found myself going through a bunch of old videos from the guy, just appreciating the journey he’s been on, from being just a boy from Eastern Kentucky to one of the greatest country music artists on the planet at the moment.

With that being said, I had to bring up this old video from way back in 2011, when Childers was only 20-years-old.

In the video, he’s sitting in a living room with a few friends it appears, and he pulls out his acoustic guitar and plays one of his OG hits, “Shake the Frost.”

I always love revisiting old videos of country artists like this, because the people in the room have absolutely no clue that the guy sitting in front of them is going to be the face of independent country music in the very near future.

Just like the girl sitting next to Childers.

She’s sitting there on her laptop, and probably has no idea how much potential this guy has.

Check it out:

And if you haven’t checked out the new music video for “Angel Band,” do yourself a favor.

It’s one helluva ride.
