Cody Johnson’s Cover Of Don Williams’ “If Hollywood Don’t Need You (Honey I Still Do)” Is One Of His Best

I’m convinced that Cody Johnson can sing just about anything.

He’s done kickass covers of “Crazy,”“Shotgun Willie,” “She’s Actin’ Single,” and tons more, but his rendition of Don Williams’ “If Hollywood Don’t Need You (Honey I Still Do)” is one of his best.

Back during the height of the COVID lockdowns, Cody did a livestream concert devoted entirely to performing covers of great country songs, and of course, he nailed it.

And there’s just something about those twangy Texas vocals on “If Hollywood Don’t Need You” that simply works.

Written by Bob McDill, Don included it as the third single from his 1982 Listen to the Radio album. It became his 13th #1 single, peaking at the top of the U.S. Billboard Hot Country Songs chart.

And I’d say that CoJo certainly made his fellow Texan proud with this rendition:

And you can watch the entire livestream here, which features tons of other great covers from CoJo:
