Chris Stapleton & Miranda Lambert Wrote A Song Called “Somebody Winds Up Pregnant,” And We Need To Hear It

I don’t even really know what this means…

All I know is that I need to hear it.

Chris Stapleton and Miranda Lambert have a new song registered to BMI (a massive company that handles licensing and royalties for songwriters) called “Somebody Winds Up Pregnant”… and I don’t think I’ve been so intrigued with a song title or pair of writers in a long time:

Typically, this wouldn’t be much to write home about, because artists and writers are constantly registering songs for many different reasons. Some of them never even see the light of day, or they wind up on an album for someone else, but this one has my attention.

I mean, Chris and Miranda co-writing a tune with a title like that? It already has the potential for country music ballad of the year based on those facts alone.

Now, we know Miranda just dropped a new record in that of Palomino, and Chris is still promoting his Grammy-winning 2021 album Starting Over, so who knows if and when we’ll ever hear this one or if they’ll sing it together, but here’s hoping we do.

I can’t even imagine that much country talent on a song together. I think they just might be the duo we never knew we needed.

Chris and Miranda performed “Maggie’s Song” together at the 2021 ACM Awards:

Miranda Lambert And Elle King’s “Drunk (And I Don’t Wanna Go Home)” Goes #1

You love to see it.

Miranda Lambert and Elle King officially have the #1 song at country radio this week with their duet, “Drunk (And I Don’t Wanna Go Home”.

Co-written by Elle and Martin Johnson, it’s a tribute to staying out till dawn and drinking the night away, albeit, it does have a bit more of an alternative and rock sound than it does country.

But, it is a really fun track that’s had a steady climb up the charts since they released it last February.

It’s also the first solo female duet to reach #1 at country radio since “Does He Love You” by Reba and Linda Davis in 1993… almost 30 years ago. It’s Miranda’s 10th #1 and Elle’s second.

Miranda and Elle recently joined the duo that is Ashley McBryde and Carly Pearce to have the first two all-female collaborations enter the top 10 at country radio ever in country music.

And this weekend, “Drunk” hit #1 on the Mediabase Country Airplay Chart, which is one of two charts labels use to officially track their songs performance:

A huge congratulations to Elle and Miranda… this #1 celebration party stands to be pretty wild if it’s anything like the music video (and with these two, I’d be willing to bet that’s gonna be a lot like it):

Miranda Lambert Plots Las Vegas Residency

Miranda Lambert is heading to Sin City.

The reigning ACM Entertainer of the Year just announced her very first Las Vegas Residency, Velvet Rodeo, which will take place at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino’s Zappos Theater.

I truly don’t think there’s anything she can’t do at this point, from owning her own clothing line to being the only female artist with a bar on Broadway in Nashville, this Vegas residency is another massive milestone for Miranda in her career.

The run of 24 shows will kickoff in September, with dates running through the end of the year, as well as a few dates in 2023.

Of course, playing in Vegas means taking the production of a Miranda show to a whole other level, and get even more creative with everything from set design to wardrobe:

“When you’ve been touring as long as I have, there’s something really creative about imagining a residency in a city like Las Vegas.

I’ve had a lot of fun designing our sets, merchandise and clothing and boot lines, and even my place on Broadway in Nashville, Casa Ros… so, this opportunity allows me to lean in a bit more into that side of myself and think about how to really bring country music to life in this room.

I think everyone will like what we’ve dreamed up. I’m really excited about this!”

She shared the news on Instagram this morning, and tickets for all shows go on sale this Friday:

“I’m heading to Vegas y’all! My new residency Velvet Rodeo begins this fall! Presale begins April 1. Join RanFans at to get presale tickets.”

It looks like I’m gonna be making a trip to Vegas sometimes this year… this will be a can’t-miss show.
