If you’ve spent any time on the internet the last couple of days you’ve surely seen the war of words between Brittany Aldean, Maren Morris, and Cassadee Pope.

The story has picked up a bunch of steam as the back and forth has continued throughout the weekend. There’s a lot to digest, so here’s the recap before Jason’s most-recent response…

Maren Morris Calls Brittany Aldean “Insurrection Barbie” After Gender Comment About Tomboy Phase

“I’d really like to thank my parents for not changing my gender when I went through my tomboy phase. I love this girly life”

The post racked up a number of likes and comments with Jason responding:

“Lmao!! I’m glad they didn’t too, cause you and I wouldn’t have worked out.”

Raelynn commented with heart eye emojis, Lara Trump, the wife of Donald Trump’s son Eric, commented with heart eyes as well, along with several other beauty influencers.

However, the post didn’t go over quite so well for the likes of other country artists, including Cassadee Pope, who shared to Twitter:

“You’d think celebs with beauty brands would see the positives in including LGBTQ+ people in their messaging.

But instead here we are, hearing someone compare their ‘tomboy phase’ to someone wanting to transition. Real nice.”

Maren Morris also responded to Pope’s tweet:

“It’s so easy to, like, not be a scumbag human? Sell your clip-ons and zip it, insurrection Barbie.”

Needless to say, I don’t think you’ll see Maren Morris and Cassadee Pope at a Jason Aldean party anytime soon…

Then, this thing really picked up.

Brittany Aldean Responds To Maren Morris’ “Insurrection Barbie” Comment: “Karen Morris, Thanks For Calling Me Barbie”

Brittany responded to Cassadee and Maren’s comments on her Instagram story, and even tagged Maren as well, saying:

“Karen Morris, thanks for calling me Barbie”

Maren also shared a video on her Instagram story encouraging people to check on their LGBTQ fans:

Ya’ll have been so sweet and supportive today of me and Cassadee, we can handle this shit, we’ve dealt with idiots for years… I would say check on your trans friends, check on your gay friends…”

The beef carries on.

Following all of this, Brittany Aldean shared the following post to Instagram.

“I love y’all, that’s all.”

The post garnered a ton of responses, including one from her husband, Jason, as he references Maren’s “Insurrection Barbie” comment.

“MY Barbie.”
