I Could Listen To Cody Jinks & Ward Davis Sing “I’m Not The Devil” Together All Damn Day

Cody Jinks Ward Davis country music

I love Cody Jinks.

I love Ward Davis and have been on a deep dive of his videos since his Ryman debut last week.

Put the two together, and you have a match made in heaven with these two on stage.

I stumbled across a video from Texas Red Dirt Roads Radio LLC of these two at Magnolia Motor Lounge in Fort Worth in 2018.

The pair perform the Jinks hit “I’m Not The Devil,” a Jinks and Davis co-write, at the intimate venue for avid fans.

As the song kicks off, Jinks looks at Ward and goes, “You got the second verse?”

Ward takes a swig of beer and dives into it.

The all-acoustic version of this song gives the lyrics a chance to really shine in the stripped-down version. The song’s studio version is heavily acoustic as well, but something about these two causally strumming on stage makes it feel different.

When they harmonize in the chorus, their voices mesh perfectly together.

Ward takes the second verse as they agreed on and knocks it out of the park.

I think this could quickly become a new favorite video of mine.

And just for fun, here’s “Colorado” together:
