If you’re like me, you still have “23” in your regular rotation, but Chayce Beckham has blessed us with another single.
The American Idol winner has been called “wise-beyond-his-years,” for his past singles, and this song keeps in pace with that. “Keeping Me Up All Night” is a step towards the country music heartbreak direction, and shows the sensitive side of Chayce, while keeping all the raspy folk-roots rhythms he’s known for.
With millions of love songs entangling the charts, Beckham’s new single uses some creative lyric ingenuity that makes you think he’s got a present-tense obsession with his lady, before the end of the chorus reveals:
“You’re gone and you ain’t gonna change your mind, you’re still keeping me up all night…”
And leaves the listeners grappling for more information.
The two seemed mutually in love only lines ago…
And the cliffhanger continues as Beckham relays only subtleties of his best and worst memories in the relationship, including:
“Still see[ing] you with your bags all packed.”
Chayce was looking for relatability on this track, sharing on social media that he wrote the song:
“With some buddies about some real life experiences.”
And for anyone who has experienced the loss of “the one” he definitely hit the mark for relatability.
Chayce Beckham just finished up a stint on tour with Jimmie Allen, and will take off as an opener on Luke Combs’ Canadian Tour this fall.
