Whiskey Riff Song Of The Week: “Jesus and Wranglers” By Riley Green

Riley Green country music

Happy Monday, y’all.

Today for the Song of the Week, we have a tune called “Jesus and Wranglers” by Riley Green.

Written by Riley along with Brad and Brett Warren and Randy Montana, it was included on Riley’s 2020 If It Wasn’t For Trucks EP. I love the honky tonkin’, 90’s country throwback sound of this one and the fun, lighthearted lyrics.

It’s fun to sing along to, as well, and I wish this one would’ve been pushed as the single from that EP as opposed to the title track, “If It Wasn’t For Trucks,” which fizzled out at #41 on the U.S. Billboard Country Airplay chart.

It’s not one he plays too often at a live show, either, but it’s become one of my favorite Riley Green songs and I think it needs a little more recognition within his catalog of music.

But let’s be honest about one thing, Wranglers never really went out of style…
