It gets the people GOING.
One of the best NFL rookie traditions is making each of them get up in front of their teammates and do some typically embarrassing performance of a song, or tell jokes, or do some impressions.
I mean who can forget Tim Johnson’s iconic impersonation of Shannon Sharpe from 2001?
Give the man his restitution!
Sometimes a non-rookie steals the show at these meetings, like last year when we saw Jordan Mailata, the Philadelphia Eagles OT, grab the mic and crush a performance of “Tennessee Whiskey”.
Well, we have a new contender for best rookie performance after the Detroit Lions’ Aidan Hutchinson, the number 2 pick in last year’s draft, absolutely lit the room on fire with a performance of Michael Jackson’s hit song “Billie Jean”.
You had guys out of their seats, ripping their shirts off and just absolutely going hogwild over it.
If you’re a Lions fan, you have to feel good about a guy with this much swagger joining the team, because let’s face it, there hasn’t been much to cheer about in a long, long time…
Regardless, what a performance by Aidan. Maybe this is a sign things are looking up for the Lions?
As a football fan, I kind of hope so…
