Everybody goes through their own personal struggles, and we’ve all been to the point where we’ve felt like we’ve let somebody down in one way or another.

Needless to say, it takes a ton of strength and courage to acknowledge those problems, and better yourself as a man or woman, husband or wife, father or mother, leaving those struggles behind.

With that being said, country star Jake Owen has been able to do that exact thing.

He posted to Instagram that he is now 316 days sober, after he decided to leave the bottle behind after making some bad decisions induced by alcohol.

The caption reads:

“317 days ago I embarrassed myself after drinking too much alcohol one night. It wasn’t the first time either.

The next day I told myself, “never again.” I am better than that, and the people I love the most deserve better. My family, my little girls, and my friends.

Just wanted to share my journey in case anyone woke up this morning and wants to make a change. None of us are perfect… I’m just trying to be the best version of myself these days.

Have a great weekend. Happy Friday”

So congrats to ol’ Jake, and we wish you nothing but the best as you continue your journey.

Much respect.

But on a different note, the man himself also released a kickass version of the legendary song “East Bound and Down,” by the great Jerry Reed off of the iconic movie Smokey and the Bandit.
